1. Data We Collect
When you register an account on BariVara.BD, we collect your name, email address, and phone number. If you post a listing as a landlord, we also collect the listing details you provide, including property address, rent, and any photos you upload. When you use the platform as a tenant, we may collect search queries and saved listing preferences. We do not collect payment information — BariVara does not charge fees and processes no financial transactions.
2. How We Use Your Data
Your data is used to operate the platform: to verify your identity when you log in, to display your listings to prospective tenants, and to allow tenants to contact landlords directly. We may use your email address to send you important account notifications, such as when a listing you posted changes status. We do not use your data for advertising or profiling. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
3. Cookies and Sessions
BariVara uses a single session cookie to keep you logged in. This cookie is HTTP-only, set with a 24-hour expiry, and is not accessible to JavaScript on the page. We do not use third-party tracking cookies, analytics cookies, or advertising cookies. Disabling cookies in your browser will prevent you from logging in but will not affect your ability to browse public listings.
4. Data Retention and Security
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you close your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it by law. Listing data may be retained in anonymised form for platform quality analysis. We use industry-standard security practices including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and signed session tokens to protect your data from unauthorised access.
5. Your Rights and Contact
You have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you. To make a data request — including requesting a copy of your data or asking us to delete your account — please email us at privacy@barivara.bd. We will respond within 14 days.
